Swiss and Austrian Aid Agencies help repair Pepeng-destroyed homes in Northern Luzon

A groundbreaking ceremony for the repair of more than 1,000 homes destroyed by typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng was held yesterday, March 22 in Botoc, Benguet.

Some 45 houses will be repaired in Sitio Labey in Botoc, Benguet, one of the communities which suffered from extensive damages after it was hit by typhoon Pepeng (Parma) in October 2009.

CDRC, together with its Regional Center, Tarabang para sa Bicol, Inc. (TABI), distributed relief goods to the families affected by Typhoon Pepeng (Parma) in Catanduanes and Camarines Sur. Psychosocial services and disaster preparedness trainings were also launched. This was supported by Caritas Switzerland and Swiss Solidarity.

This is in cooperation with the Tuason Community Center Foundation Inc. (TCCFI) and funded by Philippine Charities Foundation and the Unity Concert: Rebuilding People’s Lives 2009.

CDRC receives “Salamat Po Award” from DSWD

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) presented CDRC with the “Salamat Po Award” in appreciation of its invaluable contribution to the relief efforts for typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng.
