Caritas Switzerland representatives, Ms Regula Hafner (Head, Asia and Europe Department) and Ms Judith Niederberger (Programme Officer for Philippines and Thailand), visited the Bicol Region. The Regional Center, Tarabang Para Sa Bicol (TABI), recently concluded its 3-year project: Enhancing Flood Preparedness and Helping the Survivors of Super Typhoon Reming Help Themselves in 8 communities in Albay. The possible replication of the project in Bulusan was also visited. Caritas also witnessed the on-going relief operation in Polangui, Albay for the families affected by Typhoon Nesat (Pedring).

The Danish Ambasssador to the Philippines, His Excellency Svend Wæver, visited the on-going relief delivery operation in Cagayan de Oro City being conducted by CDRC and its Regional Center Panday Bulig. He also visited some of the most devastated areas, and talked to the survivors of Tropical Storm Sendong.

Representatives from Caritas Switzerland, Ms Judith Niederberger and Ms Regula Hafner, visited the Regional Center in Central Luzon to monitor the progress of the project: Agricultural Rehabilitation Program for Ketsana and Parma Survivors.

Alay Bayan-Luson is one of the five partners implementing the agricultural production component of the project with activities such as distribution of farm tools and implements, hand tractors, water pumps and other materials for irrigation in Bayambang, Pangasinan.
