CDRC conducted a Damage, Needs and Capacities Assessment (DNCA) in Poblacion, Muntinlupa. The area remains flooded due to three successive typhoons: Pedring, Quiel and Ramon.

More than 600 families were forced to leave their homes because of the flooding caused by typhoon Ramon in Tunasan, Muntinlupa City. The water level in Laguna Lake was already high with the onslaught of two previous typhoons –Pedring and Quiel respectively, but the recent typhoon added more flood water to the areas concerned.

Typhoon Pedring (Nesat) left Php 14.9 billion in damages to agriculture and infrastructure, surpassing the Php 12.3 billion in damages wrought by Typhoon Ondoy in 2009, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said.

Hundreds of families were left homeless Thursday after a fire raged for almost seven hours in Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa City.
Chief Insp. Roderick Aguto Sr., said about 800 families were affected by the fire which razed about 200 houses, mostly made of lightweight materials.

A four-hour fire broke out thursday night in Barangay Navotas West and Barangay Sipac in Navotas city, leaving at least 1,491 families or 7,157 persons homeless.
