The 6.9 magnitude earthquake last February 6 caused landslides in Negros Oriental. Brgy Planas was one of the communities severely affected. There were 26 people killed, while 12 others remain missing. Most of the people have not yet returned to their homes for fear of aftershocks.

The 6.9 magnitude earthquake that shook Negros Oriental on February 6, 2012, left 39 people killed and 71 others missing, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported. Civic Force Japan sends donation for Sendong victims
