Last year’s Typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng wrought death, havoc and dislocation to thousands of Filipinos in Metro Manila  and nearby provinces.
Realizing these catastrophe, Filipino-Australians in Qantas and Airports went into full gear mobilization  to assist the flood victims.

CDRC, through the generous support of the “Unity Concert 2009: Rebuilding People’s Lives”, distributed school supplies to the children affected by Typhoon Ondoy. The Unity Concert was a benefit concert organized by Filipinos in Toronto, Canada last December 13, 2009. Proceeds of the concert went to CDRC for relief and rehabilitation projects.

CDRC’s culminating activity for the UNICEF-funded project: “Rebuilding Lives After Ondoy and Pepeng: A Contribution to Children’s Road to Recovery.” The 2010 Summer Art Camp was held at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani grounds, and was attended by children from 10 Ondoy-affected communities in Metro Manila.

CDRC and its regional partner, Ilocos Center for Research, Empowerment and Development conducted a relief delivery operation in the Ilocos Region for the communities most severely affected by Typhoons Ketsana (”Ondoy”) and Parma (”Pepeng”). Families received non-food packs containing plastic sheets, blankets, sleeping mats and kitchen utensils.
