Fire leaves 1,520 families homeless in Isla Puting Bato

A fire hits a densely populated urban poor community in Isla Puting Bato, Brgy. 20, Tondo, Manila, last May 11, 2012 that lasted for two hours from 4:00 in the afternoon until 6:00 in the evening.

The fire left around one thousand two hundred ninety four (1,520) or five thousand four hundred thirty six (5,536) individuals homeless.  They are now staying temporarily at Delpan Sports Complex. Two persons were reported wounded.

The affected families are in need of food and non-food items for their immediate daily needs, such as:

Food items:  Rice, Sugar, Sardines, Mongo beans,  Dried fish, Cooking oil, Bottled water

Non-food items: Blankets, Laundry soap, Medical Supplies, Sanitary napkins, Plastic Sheets, Sleeping mats, Kitchen wares
