CDRC conducted a Community Based Disaster Management training for the youth in Payatas, Quezon City with the Intercommunication Center for Asia and Nippon (ICAN) Foundation. Payatas is a well-known dumpsite in Quezon City where more than 200 scavengers were killed and buried under an avalanche of garbage nine years ago. Payatas was also one of the affected communities during Typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy) which struck Metro manila in September 2009.
