Call for donations for Mayon evacuees

Home / Call for donations for Mayon evacuees

The Citizens’ Disaster Response Center Foundation, Inc. (CDRC) and its Legazpi-based regional partner Tarabang para sa Bikol, Inc. (TABI) are calling for donations for evacuees affected by the Mayon volcano eruption.

Mayon evacuees are in need of food, hygiene kits (bath and laundry soaps, toothbrush, toothpaste, sanitary napkins, hand towel/wash cloth) and cash donations for kitchen utensils.

TABI is piloting an Evacuation Center Community Kitchen managed by evacuees themselves.

Why EC Community Kitchen?
It ensures delivery of newly cooked/hot meals. A welcome break from sardines. Aside from nutritional provision, it provides an opportunity to promote hygiene, sanitation, proper food handling, and proper waste disposal. It also promotes unity and interaction between volunteers, donors and affected communities.

How you can help?
For now, one kitchen set-up is dedicated for mobile hot meals delivery. Another kitchen set-up is stationed at Taladong Elementary School in Camalig. You can go there directly, bring some fresh food to cook for the 344 families of Barangay Sua. Or you can course through your cash donation to CDRC. Call or email us at 02 929 98 22 and info@cdrc-phil.com

In the past, evacuees stay in evacuation centers from two weeks up to four months.
