Elizabeth Yayen

She is a 64-year-old woman from Barangay Magara in Roxas, Palawan. She lives with her husband, who is a person with a disability, and their grandchild.

They make pawid from nipa palm leaves (kanipaan) and earns PhP150-200 a day. Their house was totally damaged and her family got separated during and after the typhoon. They lost their source of living and the nipas need five months to produce leaves for pawid. They don’t even have nipas to repair their roof. With the food packs they received, Elizabeth said this would be enough for one month for the three of them. They will just make two cups of rice per meal.
